On the Malaysian set of his next Tamil film Pichaikkaran 2, actor Vijay Antony had an accident. Vijay suffered an injury while taking part in an action scene that was being filmed on the water. Vijay was immediately taken to a hospital where he is receiving treatment after the mishap.
A source from the film’s unit told the media that the accident took place while Vijay was sailing a water boat. “They were shooting for an action sequence. He was riding a water boat which kind of lost control and rammed into a bigger boat that was carrying the cameraman’s crew and setup. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur. He’s recovering and stable,” the source said.
Pichaikkaran 2 marks the directorial debut of Vijay Antony. A few months ago, it was placed on the floors. Since then, the film has been shooting in several locations throughout Malaysia. While on Langkawi Island, he was hurt in an accident.
He received first aid at the scene of the accident right away. Then he was then transported to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital. He is admitted there for further treatment.
The project is the follow-up to Sasi's hugely popular Tamil drama Pichaikkaran, which starred Vijay in the lead role. The movie tells the tale of a rich businessman who, as a religious sacrifice to save his dying mother, lives in secret as a beggar for 48 days.
Vijay is not only directing Pichaikkaran 2, but he is also producing and writing the soundtrack. John Vijay, Harish Beradi, YG Mahendran, Ajay Ghosh, Yogi Babu, and other actors are included in the movie as well. The movie is preparing to hit theatres this summer.
This year will see the release of a number of Vijay's projects as well. These include Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, Khaki, Kolai, Agni Siragugal, Tamilarasan, and others.
