Vijay Babu, a producer-actor accused of rape, is denied bail by the SC. The Kerala Police recently arrested actor and filmmaker Vijay Babu for allegedly abusing an actress. According to the most recent information on the rape case, the Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to remove the anticipatory bail that the high court had given to Vijay Babu. He has been told not to leave Kerala without permission.
Justices Indira Banerjee and JK Maheshwari's vacation bench ruled that Vijay Babu was not allowed to interfere in any evidence or harass the victim in any way. Furthermore, he has been told not to publish anything on social media.
On June 22, anticipatory bail was granted for Vijay Babu on the condition that he turn himself into the investigating officer (IO) on June 27 for a seven-day questioning. The Highcourt allowed the investigative team to interrogate the actor from 9 AM to 6 PM for seven days, till July 3.
In his statement to the court, Babu Babu said that the rape allegation had been brought against him to serve as blackmail and to ruin his reputation. As reported in prior reports, Vijay Babu departed to Dubai. After the banning of his passport, he came back to India. The Kerala High Court granted the suspect temporary pre-arrest bail on May 30.
The complainant, a Malayalam actress, claimed that Vijay Babu had repeatedly harassed her sexually at a Kochi apartment. Vijay Babu immediately denied the accusations on a Facebook live and said he was the victim in this situation. He also boldly exposed the actress through social media. After being detained for a charge of sexual assault, Vijay Babu was granted bail by the Kerala High Court.
