Vijay Sethupathi Recieves Best Actor Award For Maamanithan At Indo-French International Film Festival

Actor Vijay Sethupathi received the Best Actor Award at the Indo-French International Film Festival for his work in the universally praised Tamil comedy "Maamanithan," directed by Seenu Ramasamy. The movie also took home the Best Picture prize.

 
"Congratulations Vijay Sethupathi for Best Actor and Yuvan Shankar Raja for Best Picture. Thank you Indo-French International Film Festival." Director Seenu wrote on Twitter. It's interesting to note that renowned director Shankar referred to the movie as a "realistic masterpiece" and it received widespread acclaim shortly after its release. Vijay Sethupathi's outstanding performance in the movie, in Shankar's words, merited a National Award.
 
'Maamanithan,' directed by Seenu Ramasamy and starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie, was released earlier in June and received positive reviews from fans and audiences. In this family drama, Vijay Sethupathi plays an auto driver who experiences a severe identity crisis. The plot of 'Maamanithan' revolves around a simple man who wishes to provide a good education for his children by enrolling them in a private school. He enters into a deal with a real estate developer to increase his income and is duped in the process. The film is about the difficulties he faces. Gayathrie, who previously worked with Vijay Sethupathi in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, plays the female lead. KPAC Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram, Shaji Chen, and Jewel Mary round out the film's cast. Anikha from 'Viswasam' also appears in the film. The film is produced by Yuva Sankar Raja and K Productions.
