Vijay Sethupathi to play himself in Sanchita's Azhagiya Kanne

Sanchita Shetty made her debut with Soodhu Kavvum. She shared screen space with Vijay Sethupathi in Nalan Kumarasamy's heist comedy. Now, Sanchita Shetty is all set to star in a female-centric film titled Azhagiya Kanne, which is directed by R Vijayakumar. The filmmaker had worked with director Seenu Ramasamy. For Azhagiya Kanne, Vijay Sethupathi has been roped in to play a cameo role. According to the director, Vijay Sethupathi will play himself in the film. Director Vijayakumar told Times of India, "As per the story, the male lead is an assistant director. He goes to a hero to narrate his script, and Vijay Sethupathi plays this hero, and he will be seen as actor Vijay Sethupathi himself."

The director further added, "There are two reasons. One, Vijay Sethupathi is a favorite hero of audiences today. Secondly, he is like a brother to me. I have been working alongside him right from his Thenmerku Paruvakkatru (the actor's first film as a hero) days. And he is the kind of actor who will instantly help newcomers like me.”e gave his fullest cooperation during the filming. Since he does not have any airs about him, it was easier for me — as I did not feel the pressure of working with a big hero."
