Four people from the south got a chance to bail to the Rajya Sabha in the President's quota. The nominees are P T Usha, Virendra Hegde, Vijayendra Prasad, and, Ilayaraja. Vijayendra Prasad is a famous writer well known to movie lovers across the country. Vijayendra Prasad was born in Kovvur, Andhra Pradesh. He has worked as a writer not only for Telugu films but also for Hindi and Tamil language films. Star director S S Rajamouli is his son.

 
He also directed four films in his career. Later, since his son Rajamouli became a director, Vijayendra Prasad has been providing the story for all of Rajamouli's films. He also provided the story for the recent blockbuster movie RRR.
 
Maestro Ilayaraja needs no special introduction. He has been one of the towering figures in the movie industry for a long time. He became a music director in 1970. He has worked as a music director for hundreds of songs in Telugu and Tamil language films. He impressed the listeners with his unique style of music. Prime Minister Modi has announced that he is nominating him to the Rajya Sabha. He was born in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu.
 
The nomination of both these giants is a nod to their immense contribution to the movie industry.
