Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote the screenplays for movies like RRR, Bahubali, Eega, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and many others, is one of Indian cinema's most renowned writers. His following film is a jungle adventure starring Mahesh Babu and directed by his son, SS Rajamouli. When asked what the audience may anticipate from this international partnership, Prasad responds, “Mahesh Babu is a very intense actor. If you see his action scenes, he is very intense and that’s a very good thing for any writer.”
He continues by saying, “It doesn’t take too much time for a writer to bring the angst from his character. He can switch gears with ease in no time. No, it makes everyone’s job easy.” Opening up about the genre of SS Rajamouli’s next, Vijayendra Prasad shares, “For a long time, my son wanted to do a forest adventure, but he never got the chance. Now, he felt that Mahesh is the best choice for forest adventure and that’s how we started writing.”
Prasad acknowledges that the team is preparing to shoot all over the world and assures viewers that the movie would be best enjoyed on a huge screen. He keeps it brief: “The adventure unfolds in a way that takes the character to several countries". He responds, “We are planning to take it on floors by May/June next year” when asked about the shooting schedule.
The Indian cinema industry is anticipating nothing less than a spectacle from Vijayendra Prasad, who has several blockbusters to his credit. He grins and quickly adds, “People come to me expecting a spectacle. Sometime back, I used to write small stories, but they are now stagnant, nobody touches them. Producers tell me, there are many writers for small stories, we want a spectacle from you.”
He opened up privately while he was hosting a master class for budding film and television students at the 53rd IFFI in Goa.
