After his most recent release, "Beast," this year, Vijay is currently in production on the bilingual feature "Varisu," which is being helmed by Vamshi Paidipally. The primary actors in the film are Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, with Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Shaam, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Shanmuganathan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Yogi Babu playing supporting roles.
After the news of the movie's non-theatrical rights (OTT, digital, and satellite) was announced yesterday, September 12, the hashtag "#Varisu" was trending on social media the whole day. The movie's pre-release business has reportedly exceeded Rs 150 crore, and it is anticipated to enjoy a significant head start.
According to reports, the movie's non-theatrical rights and Hindi dubbing rights have already been sold, and filming is presently taking place in Hyderabad. In addition, it is rumoured that Vijay's upcoming film, Thalapathy 67, which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, would be priced at Rs 200 crore because "Varisu," which was already sold for a huge sum before its release, is expected to follow suit. Thalapathy 67 is in its pre-production stage and an official announcement is yet to come. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has now taken a break from social media to focus on scripting the movie, which is said to be a part of the cinematic universe designed by Lokesh.
