Vikram on 'Boycott Bollywood': Says he Doesn't Understand the Language
A lot of Chiyaan Vikram's time has been spent promoting his next movie Cobra. He was questioned about the boycott Bollywood movement while at a promotional event.
The recent boycott trends have had an impact on a number of Bollywood movies. A portion of social media has been pushing for boycotts of particular movies, from Laal Singh Chaddha to Liger, and it is unquestionably having an effect on the box office performance of the movies. In the midst of these calls, Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram was asked what he thought of the boycott trend. The 'Cobra' Actor responded with wit.
When the actor was recently questioned about the boycott trend, he was in Hyderabad promoting his new movie. In a video posted by Andhraboxoffice.com, Vikram's response to the question had the audience in splits. He said, “I don’t know what language you are speaking. What do you mean by that (boycott)? I know what’s a boy. I very well know what’s a girl. I know very, very well, what’s a cot. But, I don’t know what’s a boycott,"
Vikram is preparing for the release of Cobra in the interim. High on action, the nail bitter will feature Vikram in 25 distinct looks, some of which were featured in the teaser, such as an old guy, a business tycoon, and a teacher. The movie, which was directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu, is set to debut in theatres on August 31 of this year.
Superstar Vikram will also appear in Ponniyin Selvan: I, the landmark film by Mani Ratnam, in addition to Cobra. The historical drama Ponniyin Selvan: I, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Trisha Krishnan, and Vikram Prabhu, is due to premiere on September 30 this year.
