Rarely we do see Maoist dramas in Telugu cinemas. One such film is the upcoming project Virata Parvam. Directed by Venu Udugula, the movie features Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The director says that this will be a perfect ode to the women.

 
Speaking in a recent interview, Venu Udugula stated that the movie will be a perfect tribute to the women. The film features Priyamani, Nandita Das, and Zarina Wahab playing the other key roles alongside Sai Pallavi. Venu says that each character has a significance and is a part of the crux of this movie. Rana is playing the central and lead role which will be an interesting one to watch out for. Venu Udugula also said that Sai Chand and Naveen Chandra are essaying other prominent characters in the movie. There are 10 days left for the shoot. Around 350 members need to film the rest of the portions. Thus, the team is waiting for the right time to fix the final schedule of it. Both Rana and Sai Pallavi are playing the roles of Naxalites in this movie. The movie is a love story set in the Maoist backdrop. The story is set in the early 1990s.
 
Virata Parvam is being produced by Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri. Mahanati fame Dani Sanchez Lopez is handling the cinematography of it. Suresh Bobbili is handling the cinematography.
