Vivek Agnihotri Responds To Prakash Raj's Criticism Of The Kashmir Files; Labels Him An 'Urban Naxal' And 'Andhkar Raj.'

The actor-politician Prakash Raj recently made a statement about The Kashmir Files. In response, filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri said his film had caused “sleepless nights to urban Naxals”. Prakash had lately mocked Vivek's claims that the film had a chance of winning an Oscar. In his retort to Prakash's assertion, Vivek also referred to the actor as "Andhakar," darkness and the opposite of the actor's name Prakash.

Thursday morning, Vivek tweeted,

Prakash Raj discussed The Kashmir Files in his session at the most recent Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters in Kerala. Prakash referred to it as a "stupid film". He added, "The Kashmir Files is one of the nonsense films, but we know who produced it. Shameless. International jury spits on them. They are still shameless. The other fellow, the director is still telling, ‘Why I am not getting Oscar?’ He will not even get a Bhaskar."

In reaction, Vivek also uploaded a video. He declared: "I challenge all these urban Naxals and the legendary filmmaker who came from Israel that if they can prove any single shot, event or dialogue is not completely true, then I will quit filmmaking. Who are these people who stand up against India every time? These are the same people who never allowed Moplah's and Kashmir's truth to come out."

The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek, was one of the highest-grossing films of 2022. It told the tale of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir in the 1990s. Vivek wrote the screenplay for the movie. It also starred Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. Along with Zee Studios, Pallavi Joshi was one of the co-producers.
