Many small and medium budget films are severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Films that are ready are unable to hit the theaters due to the lockdown. Going by the current scenario, it looks like the situation will get worse in the coming days. As there are no signs of theaters reopening anytime soon, makers are opting for a direct OTT release. Already, quite a few Indian films have directly hit the digital platforms during this lockdown. Now, another film is going to join the list. It is Sanjay Mishra starrer Waah Zindagi.
Directed by Dinesh S Yadav, this drama promotes the Make In India initiative and calls for banning Chinese products. Due to its content, the film also got support from the government. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and National co-convener of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) Dr. Ashwini Mahajan have extended their support for the film. The entire shooting of the movie got wrapped up. Earlier, the makers planned to release it in mid-2020. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have decided to opt for a direct digital release.
Waah, Zindagi features Vijay Raaz, Naveen Kasturia, Manoj Joshi, and Plabitha Borthakur in the other important roles. Ashok Choudhary has bankrolled this project under the banner Shivaaza Films and Entertainment. Dinesh has earlier directed the 2018 film Turtle. Even that film featured Sanjay Mishra in the lead role. It also won a National Award last year. Sanjay Mishra was last seen in the film Kaamyaab. This heart-touching drama is now streaming online and getting a good response from the viewers.
