Finally, Netflix reveals that it will be premiering 17 titles over the next few months. By unveiling the reel of their upcoming releases 17 original stories include six new films and two new series. The six new addition to the Netflix films includes Ludo, a multi starrer unique comedy-drama which is all about four people whose lives collide with each other. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Pankaj Tripathi, and Pearle Maaney.
Another film is Torbaaz, an emotional drama of transformation, which stars Sanjay Dutt. Tribhanga- Tedhi Medhi Crazy starring Kajol Devgn and Mithila Palker. There is also a crime thriller called Raat Akeli Hai, featuring Radhika Apte, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Aditya Srivastava, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Nishant Dahiya, and Shweta Tripathi. Dolly Kitty Aur Chamakte Sitare is all about two cousins and their quest for freedom. Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sensharma play the lead roles in this drama. Ginny Weds Sunny is a romantic comedy with Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam. Also, it has Bombay Rose, an award-winning animated romance film and also the first Indian animation film ever selected to open Venice Critics’ Week.
All of these sound exciting, right? The novel coronavirus pandemic which led to a lockdown has forced all of us to watch content streaming on digital platforms. And with Netflix announcing these many projects, movie buffs can happily gear up to pick their favorites to watch.
The list of films which include the inspiring true story of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl starring Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, and Angad Bedi in lead roles. Kaali Khuhi, a horror story set in a village in Punjab features Shabana Azmi, Satyadeep Mishra, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Riva Arora. Serious Men, a drama based on Manu Joseph’s novel starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nassar, and Shweta Basu Prasad will also stream on Netflix.
A cop drama Class Of ’83, featuring Bobby Deol, Bhupendra Jadawat, Hitesh Bhojraj, and Annup Sonii is also one among the lot. Last but not the least, dark comedy AK vs AK starring Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap is also a Netflix Original. The OTT giant is yet to announce the streaming dates of all these projects. Well, keep yourselves a little free to binge-watch them. The two new series in the store are Mismatched and A Suitable Boy.
While Mismatched is based on Sandhya Menon’s book When Dimple Met Rishi, A Suitable Boy is based on the critically acclaimed book by Vikram Seth, with the same title. A Suitable Boy will be available on Netflix globally except in the United States and Canada. A series called Masaba Masaba, starring Masaba Gupta and Neena Gupta as themselves with Neil Bhoopalam will also stream on Netflix. Bombay Begums, a contemporary drama and Bhaag Beanie Bhaag, a dramedy starring Swara Bhasker will also release on Netflix.
