Bollywood is aiming for at least one pan-India blockbuster. However, even the most recent film, Laal Singh Chaddha, on which all Bollywood fans set their expectations, was a flop. Though the film's narration is monotonous, the Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha trend on social media contributed to the film's low box office.
With this, Bollywood is left with only one Pan-India hit, Brahmastra. Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and directed by Ayan Mukerji, is one of the most anticipated films of 2022. The fantasy drama, produced by Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios, also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in major roles.
Surprisingly, this film is now in trouble when a group of social media users called for a boycott. "Boycott Brahmastra" has been trending among Sushant Singh Rajput supporters on social media. The major reason for this boycott is since there is speculation that Sushant was the initial option for the lead part in this film, but Karan Johar's nepotism forced him out of the production. There is also speculation that Sushant suffered from depression before to his death as a result of missing out on this film chance.
However, some believe that if the film's content and direction are excellent, these trends will fail miserably.
