The new-age thriller Yashoda is one of Samantha Ruth Prabhu's most anticipated films in her stellar list. The producers have revealed that the suspense drama's teaser will debut on September 9 of this year. The movie's announcement poster is equally very suspenseful. Samantha is spotted moving through the crowd. Her piercing eyes and her battle scars make her difficult to ignore even among so many people. Her most recent appearance by Yashoda somewhat resembles the persona she played in the well-known web series The Family Man 2.
Along with the rest of the supporting cast, the movie's core cast also features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada, and Priyanka Sharma in key roles. It was directed by the husband-and-wife team of Hari and Harish.
Yashoda's crime is based on a true story, the director team of Hari and Harish acknowledged in an interview. They disclosed, "The story is set against the backdrop of a crime that is taking place without anyone in the community being aware of it. The crime we're presenting is based on a real-life incidence, but we've given it a psychological thriller twist. When a typical girl hears of a crime, she is forced to confront it.
