Madonne Ashwin's 'Maaveeran,' starring Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar, began filming yesterday. The crew has begun shooting in Chennai, and the film's producer, Arun Viswa, has told us that there will be some interesting additions. Following the announcement that Aditi Shankar will play the female lead, director-actor Mysskin and Saritha have joined the cast. Today, the makers announced that Yogi Babu will also appear in the film. Yogi Babu collaborated with Madonne on the film 'Mandela,' which earned the director a National Award. It will be fascinating to see what role Madonne assigns to Yogi Babu.
Producer Arun previously said in an interview, "The film is set in and around Chennai, so the characters' appearances will reflect that. We intend to shoot the film in two or three schedules over a single stretch, with small breaks in between." It'll be interesting to see who else is in the film.
Mysskin is said to play a crucial role in the film, but the directors haven't revealed any further specifics about the cast as of yet. The film's production is set to begin soon, and Sivakarthikeyan will be juggling many projects. Bharath Sankar will compose the music, and Vidhu Ayyanna will direct the film.
Sivakarthikeyan, on the other hand, is about to finish work on the Tamil-Telugu bilingual 'Prince,' directed by Anudeep, and the film is set to be released this Diwali. Sivakarthikeyan has recently confirmed a collaboration with Rajkumar Periyasamy for a film provisionally named 'SK 21,' which will be a multilingual drama.
