Young Ahmed at MAMI Film Festival is Bold and Hard-Hitting

Exposing the religious extremism in a film is never an easy task but director duo Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne manage to achieve it in a very successful way. Their film Young Ahmed explores how religious extremists try to spread their propaganda by luring young lads.

The film showcases the story of a boy who attempts to kill his mother in the name of religion. Young Ahmed explores the concept of terrorism in a subtle way by not even mentioning it. Lead actor Idir Ben Addi carried the entire film on his shoulders. The movie is much-needed in the current times as it gives a reality check to a lot of people who go blind in the name of religion.

On the whole, Young Ahmed is an important film that delivers a strong note on the present society. The film got a thumping response at the ongoing MAMI International Film Festival.
