2 crore rupees seized at two different places in Theni, Tamilnadu, Police opens fire!
EC goes overboard to control every possible illegitimate act during this heat period of elections in Tamilnadu. Mainly TTV Dhinakaran-led AMMK was accused in both the incidents that were reported.
Income Tax Department confirmed they've seized nearly ₹1.5 crore of unaccounted cash from a worker of TTV Dhinakaran-led AMMK in Tamil Nadu's Theni district. Officials said the cash was packed in over 90 packets and had ward numbers, number of voters and ₹300 share per voter mentioned on them. Notably, Assembly by-polls are scheduled for April 18 in the district.
Police opened fire in the air in the same Tamil Nadu's Theni district after supporters of AMMK allegedly tried to prevent flying squad officials from seizing nearly ₹50 lakh stashed in a store. The party men had closed the store's doors and some gathered outside to prevent the officials from entering. The cash was allegedly meant for distribution among voters.
