AP High Court clears the path for CI Gorantla Madhav
The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has cleared the way for CI Gorantla Madhav backing the decision of tribunal court to file the nomination for the Lok Sabha elections. This former Police Officer has applied for voluntary retirement and has joined the YSR Congress Party who will now be contesting from Hindupur Parliament constituency.
Gorantla has resigned to the job in January, after which the AP government didn’t agree to relieve him from the services. To hit back the strategical move by the ruling party, Gorantla approached the tribunal court which gave the decision in favour of him. However, the AP government didn’t yield to this judgement by challenging it in the High court filing a petition that they couldn’t receive Gorantla with immediate effect.
As it is known fact that he couldn’t contest in the elections unless until his resignation gets approved before the nomination process ends, speculations grew that EC might reject the nomination referring to these technical issues. Gorantla had also made the backup plan to field his better half Savitha if the issue is not resolved.
However, the High Court’s timely result has come as a major relief to Gorantla who is considered to be a dynamic leader.
