In the 21st match of the Vivo IPL 2019, Rajasthan Royals hosted Kolkata Knight Riders in Jaipur. Kolkata won the toss and opted to chase. Rajasthan struggled to bat throughout the 1st innings as they lost their skipper Rahane early who was caught as a plumb.
On the slowish track, Royals managed to score just 28 runs in the power play and Butler perished of after scoring an unconventional 37 by debutant Harry Gurney. Steven Smith battled on the other side with his 73 off 59 deliveries stood unbeaten as others failed to hit biggies.
Kolkata needed to chase 140. They went off to a flier as Lynn and Narine smacked the Rajasthan bowlers to all parts of the ground and scored 65 runs in the mandatory power play. Lynn rode his luck once again as bails didn’t come off even the ball hit the stumps.
After the openers, Uthappa and Gill finished the things off calmly and KKR blew the moderate 140 runs with 37 balls left. Harry Gurney was "Man of the match" for his 2/25 in his 4 overs.
