CM K Palaniswami says 52 lakh cardholders don’t have LPG cylinders
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has requested the Centre for kerosene allocation to the state under public distribution system, he also informed that 51.8 lakh family did not have LPG connection and also 74.92 lakh people have single LPG conception in that Tamil Nadu state.
CM sought in similar letters to Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman (Finance) Dharmendra Pradhan (Petroleum and Natural Gas) and Ram Vilas Paswan (Food and Public Distribution.
The CM said, “The state government has been continuously pressing for kerosene allotment, commensurate with the zero-cylinder cards. But, Centre has still not needed to the request. Under the circumstance, further reduction of PDS kerosene will affect the cooking and lighting needs of the poor.”
Palaniswami also said “The state is struggling to make ends meet with the limited allotment of 16148KL provided till June 2019. While so, the further reduction would lead to difficulties in distribution, leaving the poor and needy from remote areas in the lurch,” he stated.
