Coronavirus claims first royal life as Spanish princess Maria Teresa dies after testing positive

The King of Spain, Felipe VI lost his cousin princess Maria Teresa to Coronavirus on Friday. Teresa died at age 86 in Paris, France after she tested positive for the virus just a few days before. Maria Teresa was born in the royal family to Prince Xavier and Madeleine de Bourbon. The Covid-19 virus has till now claimed over 5500 lives in Spain alone. The country is desperately looking at limiting the number of deaths as soon as possible.

 
In the UK on the other hand, Prince Charles of the British Royal family and the successor to the throne have also contracted the novel Covid-19 virus. The virus has claimed over 1000 lives in the UK too. The prime minister of the UK, Boris Johnson has also been affected by the virus. Both Prince Charles and Johnson are in good health.
 
Earlier Queen Elizabeth II herself issued a public statement to ease the British public and boost people's morale. She said, "At times such as these, I am reminded that our nation’s history has been forged by people and communities coming together to work as one, concentrating our combined efforts with a focus on the common goal."
 
"We are enormously thankful for the expertise and commitment of our scientists, medical practitioners, and emergency and public services; but now more than any time in our recent past, we all have a vitally important part to play as individuals – today and in the coming days, weeks and months," she added.
 
The British queen who is 93 concluded saying, " Many of us will need to find new ways of staying in touch with each other and making sure that loved ones are safe. I am certain we are up to that challenge. You can be assured that my family and I stand ready to play our part."
