On Wednesday, India recorded its highest single day rise in the cases of coronavirus. The country recorded around 1,99,569 fresh cases and the number of people who lost their lives include 1037. The total number of cases in India now stands at 14,070,890 making it the second most affected country worldwide. All this data has been reported by the Health Ministry of India on their website.

 
Talking about the state wise cases in the last 24-hours, the capital recorded around 17 thousand cases and around 100 deaths on Wednesday. This is also a record breaking number for the state since the onset of the pandemic. Maharashtra recorded around 58952 cases and 278 fatalities. The government of Maharashtra has imposed a 15-day curfew in the state which started Wednesday evening. Section 144 has been imposed all over the state to avoid public gatherings and celebrations and hence the increasing number of spread of cases.
 
Meanwhile, the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, to hold a meeting with Lieutenant governor Anil Baijal to discuss the ongoing corona situation in the state.
 
 
The 24-hour surge in cases in other states include, Kerala (8778), Andhra Pradesh (4157), Uttar Pradesh (20439), Rajasthan (6200), etc.
