Dhawan’s masterstroke helped DC beat KKR!
On Friday night, the most balanced Delhi Capitals once again proved why they shouldn’t be underestimated. After Winning toss they have decided to chase on a very good batting surface. KKR looked a bit messy with there changes and the debutant Joe Denly went for a duck the very first over.
Shubman Gill, who got promotion looked confident throughout the innings as Uthappa and Rana failed to covert the good starts into big. After the departure of Gill who scored 65 off 39 balls, KKR lost their skipper in brief period. But, the man in form of his life Andre Russell has shied yet again to give KKR a formidable total with his 45 off 21.
Chasing 179, Delhi were off to a quick start by Prithvi Shaw and Dhawan before Shaw tickled on to Karthik. Delhi Skipper followed him and the chase seemed to be a tough task for Capitals. But Dhawan looked Calm and composed while Rishabh Pant batted much sensibly at the other end.
These two had no problems whatsoever from KKR bowlers to guide Delhi home. After Pant got out Shikhar has had a chance to score his 1st T20I century but Colin Ingram smashed one downtown for the sake of Net Run rate. Gabbar was awarded Man of the Match for his 97 off 63.
