Dileep’s Actress Molestation Case: Survivor Files Petition In Supreme Court Wanting To Change The Trial Court.

Delhi: The survivor wants to change the trial court in the actress attack case. An application was filed in the Supreme Court for this. It is alleged in the petition that the accused in the case- actor Dileep- is related to the trial court judge. The petition says that the police have evidence of this relationship. The trial court has also accused the prosecution of treating it with prejudice.

Last week, the High Court had rejected survivor’s request to change the trial court. The court action was to clarify that the allegations against the trial court judge were baseless. The court also rejected survivor’s request to prevent the publication of details of the verdict.

Justice Ziyad Rahman rejected the argument that the transfer of the trial in the actress case from a special court was not legal. The single bench said that the registrar's order transferring the trial to the District Sessions Court was a continuation of the court proceedings. With this, the trial of the case continues in the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court itself. It was in this situation that Atijeevi approached the Supreme Court.

The court considered that the trial of the case was at the final stage. At this stage, the accused and the prosecution must cooperate with the trial. The court also stated that the audio clip submitted as evidence of the relationship between the husband of the trial court judge and the accused Dileep has no authority. The trial court rejected all the allegations against the judge.
