Thiruvananthapuram: DRI reported that drugs worth 1978 crores were smuggled into India under the guise of importing fruits. Besides to the drugs seized in the load called Valencia Orange on September 30, it is alleged that Vijin and Mansoor, were also involved in the seizure of 50 kg of cocaine worth Rs 502 crore on October 5. Vijin's arrest recorded in this case too.

 
According to the report submitted by the investigation team to the court, they have been doing this type of transaction since 2018. Last week, they smuggled cocaine in a container containing green apples. At the same time, the seizure of 50 kg of heroin from a Pak boat off the coast of Gujarat is linked to drug trafficking in Mumbai disguised as fruit import. Six Pakistani nationals were apprehended in Gujarat with drugs worth Rs 350 crore.
 
On September 30, 198 kg of high-strength crystal meth and 9 kg of cocaine had seized off the coast of Mumbai. DRI has seized drugs worth around Rs. 1476 crore in the international market. He was stopped on the way while transported in a truck. The intoxicating drug was delivered from Johannesberg in South Africa under the name Valencia Orange. The import was in the name of Yummy International Foods, a company owned by Vijin Varghese, a native of Ernakulam. Vigin said that, Mansoor, took the initiative to deliver the seized consignment. He also stated that he had imported fruits many times with Mansoor. But the family says that Mansoor has no role.
 
Both of them started their friendship through the business of sending masks to Dubai during the Covid Period. later decided to cooperate in other businesses. In business, profits were shared with Mansoor in the ratio of 70:30. The investigation is focused on whether this quantity of drug was intended for export or distribution in India. Vijin's brother and co-owner of Yummy International Foods, Jibin, is also under investigation.
