ED files Charge Sheet Against Journalist Rana Ayyub In A Special Court In Ghaziabad.

Delhi: The ED filed a charge sheet against journalist Rana Ayyub. The charge sheet was filed in a special court in Ghaziabad. The case is that money was collected illegally from people through an online platform under the guise of charity. The Enforcement Directorate has taken action against Rana Ayyub for allegedly using the money collected through donations for voluntary work for her own purposes.

ED had imposed a travel ban on Rana Ayyub and later lifted it. The Delhi High Court quashed the travel ban imposed by the Enforcement Directorate. The United Nations also came to the scene in support of Rana Ayyub. The UN has called for an end to India's investigation agencies' move against Rana Ayyub and action against online attacks. The UN tweeted in support of Rana Ayyub.

"Actions taken against Rana Ayyub by investigative agencies in India should be stopped". The UN also asked India to investigate the online anti-Communist attacks against Rana Ayyub.

But India's response was that the allegation of judicial torture was baseless and unnecessary. India upholds the rule of law, but no one is above the law. Following false propaganda would also tarnish the United Nations, according to BJP. Meanwhile, the Washington Post, which supported Rana Ayyub, had criticised the idea that free media work in India was in danger. ED confiscated Rana Ayyub's Rs. 1.77 crore on the basis of allegations of irregularities.
