JDS chief H.D. Devegowda declared that Ex-Minister A.H. Vishwanath will continue as the State party president.
He said to the media 'There is no question of making anybody else as State president. The post will remain as it till the [Mr. Vishwanath] comes. We will convince him.' Respecting that Mr. Vishwanath was unhappy with the politics in the district level, Gowda said he has not requested for a Cabinet seat.
Gowda said his grand son’s political future, 'Nikhil was fielded under pressure from our party leaders in Mandya. Nikhil will not keep quiet despite his loss. He is a fighter and will fight politically then what he would do in the film industry.' He also stated that since he no needs to go to Lok Sabha after his loss in Tumakuru, he would focus on strengthening the party.
Mr. Gowda stated that save the alliance, Siddaramaiah and H.D. Kumaraswamy had assisted Independent in the Cabinet. “Several legislators are unhappy. Ministers Krishna Byre Gowda, Shivakumar Reddy, and Managuli have offered to resign. Some will also work for the party.” He also said that the government was also assigning heads for boards and corporations.
