Hurting The Religious Sentiments Of Hindus - Minister Wants To Ban The Movie 'Thank God'

Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Vishwas Sarang has asked Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur to ban Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra's film 'Thank God' as it hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus.

In a letter to Sarang Thakur, Sarang said that the film inappropriately portrays Chitragupta, the Hindu deity who according to Puranas accompanies Yama, the god of death.

Over the years, many filmmakers and actors in Bollywood have been expressing objectionable comments about deities in the Hindu community, including lewd scenes.

The minister said that in the recently released trailer, Chitragupta is shown as a man surrounded by 'half-assed' women. Moreover, not only the Kayastha community but also the Hindu communities are outraged by Ajay Devgn's objectionable remarks. The minister added that by ordering the telecast of this film to be stopped immediately, the sentiments of the Kayastha/Hindu community can be prevented. Indrakumar is the director of the movie
