IPL 2019: Resilient SRH smoked Rajasthan away despite Samson’s ton!
Traditionally, SRH is a dominant force with the ball but in the first two matches of theirs IPL the contrary happened. Yesterday Sun Risers were put into changed by Royals after conceding 198 runs and openers Warner and Bairstow gave them an emphatic start scoring 110 for the first wicket in just below 10 overs.
After their departure, Williamson spent some good amount of time as Vijay Shankar continued to thrash the RR bowlers to all parts of the ground. A couple of quick wickets from Royals created some tension at last but Yusuf along with Rashid made it comfortably, at last, sparing an over and SRH finished the mighty chase.
Shreyas Gopal bowled exceptionally well picking up 3 wickets and gave just 27 runs in his 4 overs.
Royals won the toss and elected to bat who started their innings tidy losing Jobs Butler in the 3rd over. But Captain Rahane and Sanju Samson stitched a century partnership before Rahane Gott out for his 70 off 49.
In the death overs, Samson outplayed the specialist Bhuvaneshwar and scored 24 runs in 18th over and 21 in the final over in order to reach his 2nd IPL ton that gave Rajasthan Royals a Big total. Rashid Khan was awarded the Man of the Match for his 1/24 and 15 of 8 in pressure situations.
