YSRCP president and opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced his party’s much awaited ‘BC Declaration’ at public meeting Eluru, Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. Jagan promised 50% quota for backward classes in all government nominated posts, statutory status for BC sub-plan in the state budget and allocation of Rs 15,000 cr per year in the budget for BC welfare, if his party was voted to power in upcoming elections.
Unveiling a ‘Backward Class’ Jagan described it as ‘Backbone Class’ at public meeting in Eluru, West Godavari District. Jagan also promised the women that he will provide every woman above the age of 45 would get 75,000 rupees every year for welfare of the community, the constitutional special corporations for all 139 Backward castes and 50% Jobs to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes.
Jagan said that BC’s have been kept away from the development process by Naidu’s government in the past 4 years and 9 months and when our Government comes to power with your blessings, we will set up a BC commission.
Jagan said, “What all assurances we give, from the sub-plan to quota in nominated posts to allocation of funds and categorisation, we will do it on the basis of legislation, unlike Naidu.”
