Jagannath Rath Yatra begins in Puri
Lakhs of devotees thronged the coastal town of Puri as the annual Rath Yatra festival got underway amid religious fervor on the morning of July 4.
Amit Shah in the early hours of Thursday participated in a 'Mangala Aarti' at the historic Jagannath Temple at Ahmedabad, ahead of the annual Gujarat Jagannath Rath Yatra.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wished the people on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra.

"Best wishes to everyone on the special occasion of the Rath Yatra. We pray to Lord Jagannath and seek his blessings for the good health, happiness, and prosperity of everyone. Jai Jagannath," he tweeted.
A total of 142 platoons of the police force, two companies of Rapid Action Force, three units of Odisha State Armed Force, National Disaster Response Force teams and more than 1,000 police officers have been deployed to manage the crowd as well as thwart any attempt of sabotage.
The festival is associated with Lord Jagannath.
