Karnataka Congress MLA Anand Singh resigns

In a midnight political coup, the BJP launched Operation Kamala and has made sure several Congress MLAs quit the party. All this has happened when Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is away in the United States of America.

It all started early on Monday morning with Congress MLA from the Vijayanagara constituency of the Ballari district Anand Singh resigning from his post. He is likely to join the BJP.
Anand Singh, who met speaker KR Ramesh Kumar at his official residence in the city submitted his resignation paper.
According to the sources in the Congress, mobile phones of seven MLAs, including Nagendra, BC Patil, and Kampli Ganesh are switched off. "They are expected to submit their resignations soon," said a Congress leader.
According to sources in the BJP camp, it is a well-planned strategy. "If CM Kumaraswamy was in Bengaluru he would have avoided this coup. But now there is no chance. Congress party leaders are not keen to save this government," explained a senior BJP leader who wished to be unnamed.
Meanwhile, BJP state president, former CM BS Yeddyurappa is holding an emergency press meet at 12 noon informed his office sources. An invitation has been sent to all the media houses to attend the press meet.
