Karnataka HC orders Hassan DC to furnish Prajwal Revanna’s poll papers
Hassan Deputy Commissioner was directed by the High Court to give the documents related to MP Prajwal Revanna’s nomination documents to advocate G Devarajegowda by July 3.
The order was issued by Justice Alok Aradhe while disposing of a petition registered by Devarajegowda, who is also a social worker form Haasan.
In his petition, Devarajegowda alleged that Prajwal had registered a wrong affidavit in connection with movable and immovable properties, bank balance and income from previous years in Form No 26, registered during his nomination for the newly held Lok Sabha elections.
He had registered a petition in High Court after the Haasan DC, rejected an application requesting Prajwal’s certified documents of particulars, including his nominations papers. The DC had rejected the seek despite existing bound to provide the information under rule 93(2) of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.
He has filed a petition with the High Court requesting the documents, while the last date for filing poll petition is July 6.
