K.N. Nehru says the party should go alone in the local body polls

Ex- DMK Minister K.N. Nehru suggesting that the party should go alone, instead of with the Congress, in the local body elections.
Mr. Nehru has shown his displeasure on Congress workers reported said that they would request a good number of seats in South Chennai in DMK-led alliance, which had gained a huge success in the Lok Sabha elections.
The party’s Tiruchi South district secretary speaking about the DMK’s protest demonstration on the heavy water issue in Tiruchi, “If we are to be of use to the people, we would contest the local body election alone. How long can we remain the palanquin-bearers?”.
He also added that “When we are in alliance with the Congress, people like Mayura Jayakumar continuously criticized the DMK regime. They spoilt the relations between us and Congress. Yet, we worked for them as per the alliance dharma in the recent election and all have won”. The party leaders should talk about seat sharing and not all and various. While they contest with one another in their self-regard and claim that they would get 50 or 80 seats, Nehru said. “I only said I will convey to my party leader my view that the DMK should contest the maximum number of seats.”
