As many as 48 vehicles collided in a road accident after a tanker truck lost control on Navale Bridge. Many people were injured. This major vehicle collision took place on the National Highway.
PTI reported that it is suspected that the brakes of the Pune-bound tanker had malfunctioned and rammed into several vehicles at Navale Bridge.
Several people were injured in the accident on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, but no casualties were reported. Due to the steepness of the road and excessive speed of vehicles, accidents are common in the Navale Palam area. The authorities are removing the accident vehicles from the road.
The fire department of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) claimed that at least 48 vehicles, including those with minor damage, were damaged in the incident. According to news agency ANI, 48 vehicles were damaged.
“A major accident occurred at Navale Bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune in which about 48 vehicles got damaged. Rescue teams from the Pune Fire Brigade and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have reached the spot: Pune Fire Brigade;” ANI tweeted.
