Naidu put under house arrest amid protests against YSRCP

TDP chief and former Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh were put under house arrest on Wednesday. TDP leaders and workers who were trying to go to Naidu's residence were also stopped by police.

This comes after TDP had called for a protest over alleged attacks on party workers by Jagan Reddy's YSR Congress Party. After Chandrababu Naidu was put under preventive detention, several other leaders of the TDP have also been placed under house arrest.
Former TDP MLA Tangirala Sowmya under house arrest at Nandigama town after she staged protest in front of her house. TDP MLC YVB Rajendra Prasad has also been put under house arrest in Uyyuru. Many of the TDP workers were also taken into custody by Chandra Babu.
The Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday put several TDP leaders under house arrest ahead of TDP’s Chalo Atmakur’ rally. Section 144 has been imposed in Narasaraopeta, Sattenapalle, Palnadu and Gurajala.
Following his house arrest, TDP's chief Chandrababu Naidu said he will sit on a hunger strike from 8 am to 8 pm on Wednesday.
