No Bail To Sidhique Kappan; Lucknow Court Says Journalist Siddique Kappan Has A PFI Connection.

A Lucknow court says journalist Siddique Kappan has a PFI connection. The reference is in the order rejecting the bail application in the enforcement case. The court mentioned that Kappan had connections with PFI and was in regular contact with PFI officials. Cappan participated in PFI meetings. Financial transactions were made for terrorism. The money transfers made to the accounts of the co-accused are also for terrorism.

The Lucknow District Court rejected Siddique Kappan's bail plea in the enforcement case yesterday. Although Kappan was already granted bail in the UAPA case, he can be released from jail only if he is also granted bail in the ED case. The hearing of Siddique Kappan's bail plea in the ED case was completed on October 12. The ED argued that Capan could not specify the source of the Rs 45,000 in the account. The ED found that Capan had links with the Popular Front and that the money was accepted to create riots in Hathras.

On the 9th of last month, the Supreme Court granted bail to Siddique Kappan, who was jailed under the UAPA by the UP government on his way to Hathras. A bench headed by Chief Justice UU Lalit granted bail on the grounds that the evidence found by the UP police was insufficient. The bail was on the condition that the captain should stay in Delhi for the next six weeks. However, Siddique Kapan can be released only if he gets bail in the case registered by ED.

Siddique Kappan, was arrested by the UP Police under UAPA on the fake grounds that he had tried to riot. Kappan, who was arrested under UAPA and other sections, has been in jail for 22 months.
