RR’s new skipper Smith shines as they defeated Mumbai one more time in this season!
Rajasthan’s new skipper Steven Smith changed his team’s fortunes in the Pink city after he won the toss and elected to field. Mumbai lost their struggling captain early but recovered very well as Decock and Surya Kumar Yadav scored 65 and 34 respectively.
They stitched 97 runs for the second wicket and thereafter MI lost the momentum to score just 161 runs in their 20 overs. Hardik Pandya played a little cameo, 23 off 15 balls who was given two lives by Jofra Archer’s drop catches. Shreyas Gopal bowled exceptionally well he finished his spell with 4-0-21-2.
Chasing a par total on this pitch, Rajasthan went off to a flier as rah looked comfortable with his new opening partner Sanju Samson. They scored 39 runs for a 1st wicket in just 3.4 overs but both failed to convert their starts into big ones. On the other side, Captain Steven Smith paced his innings beautifully even Stokes gone for a duck.
Then came young sensation Riyan Parag who played more than matured innings of his age scored all over the ground for his 29 balls 43. Smith has no worries even after Parag and Turner departed. He finished the things in a calm manner and was awarded the 'Man of the Match' for his 48 balls 59 which included 5 fours and 1 six.
