Ruthless Russell snatched Bangalore’s first win of the season!
Royal Challengers Bangalore who were eyeing on their first season tuned as victims for Russell’s storm in the 17th match of Vivo IPL 2019. Bangalore who is put into bat by the Knight Riders posted a massive 205 runs off the board. In reply, KKR started well scoring 28 of the first 2 overs losing Narine’s wicket. Later Uthappa and Chris Lynn stitched a very good partnership before Uthappa got out for 33.
Later Lynn failed to cash out the two dropped chances and fell to Negi’s brilliance after scoring 43. Rana continued to fight with his 37 but both Karthik and Rana departed while they are in the mood of a good swing. RCB spinners bowled really well to sneak the Required run rate past 16.
Then came Jamaican Muscular Russell who scored 48 from just 13 balls to seal an emphatic win for KKR. He scored 23 and 29 runs in 18th and 19th overs respectively while KKR needs 53 off last three overs.
Batting first, Royal Challengers were off to a very good start in the Powerplay scoring 53 runs in the Power play. Then came Kohli-Devillers with all guns blazing from the 14th over. Kohli scored 84 from 49 and AbD smashed 63 off just 32 deliveries and got out in the 18th over.
Stoinis quick fireworks provided the hosts 18 of the final over to get them past the 200 mark. Andre Russell was awarded the Man of the Match for his out of the world innings.
