JDS and Congress coordination committee meeting held on Thursday evening again proved that former CM Siddaramaiah is the real boss in the coalition government. If sources in the JDS are to be believed, CM HD Kumaraswamy has agreed to all the demands put forth by Siddaramaiah at the meeting.
According to the sources, amidst resistance from his brother H D Revanna, CM HDK agreed to appoint Congress MLA from Hassan Gopalaswamy as his legislative secretary. The CM also agreed to appoint Congress MLA Dr. Sudhakar as the chairman of the state pollution control board. It may be recalled that earlier the CM had opposed both the proposals sent by the Congress in this regard. "The CM also agreed to appoint all Congress nominees for various boards and corporations," said a JDS leader who wished to be unnamed. At the meeting, the CM also agreed to the demand of the Congress that no major policy decision would be taken by the state without the party's approval. "It is said that the JDS has also agreed to not demand those Lok Sabha constituencies, which are now in the hands of the Congress. This means the Congress will get the JDS strongholds like Bengaluru Rural, Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur etc. Said a senior party leader adding that Siddaramaiah has also submitted a proposal of Rs.800 crores for the development of Badami constituency. "The CM has agreed to consider all the proposals. It is another important development during the meeting," informed a leader.
