Indian cricketer KL Rahul says that stray dogs are being killed en masse in Kerala and that this should stop. He requested this in a post shared on his Instagram page. KL raised his voice for stray dogs in Kerala by sharing the poster of VOSD, an organization working for the protection of stray dogs.
This poster says that the rampant killing of stray dogs has started again in Kerala. The poster shared by KL Rahul says that the killing of stray dogs should be stopped and stray dogs should be protected under the leadership of VOSD.
VOSD is a voluntary organization based in Bengaluru. Their method is to protect dogs from the street for life. According to their website, this is the world's largest project for the protection of stray dogs. Hundreds of rescued dogs are currently being cared for at the VOS Sanctuary & Hospital in Bangalore. These stray dogs are said to have been brought from more than 30 cities in India by road, train, and air.
They do not adopt dogs in their shelter homes. The website also states that dogs at VOSD stay here for life. Meanwhile, it is not clear whether this organization is doing any work in Kerala, where there are more than eight lakh stray dogs.
