The Party In Power In Each State Should Take The Initiative To Unite The Secular Parties, Says Sitaram Yechury.

Delhi: Sitaram Yechury said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi is an internal matter of the Congress. Yechury said that reaching out to the people is a good thing. Many parties have announced trips. He also opined that the parties should decide how many days they need to travel to each state. Sitaram Yechury was speaking to the media after the CPM Politburo meeting.

It was the CPM that closed the BJP's account in Kerala. Yechury suggested that the party in power in each state should take the initiative to unite the secular parties. Tamil Nadu is an example of this. Democratic secular parties can be united and form a front or alliance. It should be at the state level. Kerala tops all the indices of NITI Aayog. Can’t compare with UP. Yechury also demanded a caste census in the country. No census has been conducted in the country. Yechury said that a caste census can also be conducted along with it, adding that it is not possible to cooperate with the Congress in Kerala.

Yechury said that the coming to power of the grand coalition government in Bihar is a new movement, and the CPM is also a part of that movement. He added that PB's decision is to work for the unity of democratic and secular parties against the BJP and will strengthen the alliance of left parties. Economic growth in the country is down. Yechury accused the government of lying about economic growth and blamed the country's rising inflation and unemployment on this. The PB meeting assessed that violence against women had increased by 15 percent in the country in 2021.
