KN Rajanna, Ex MLA of Madhugiri and senior Congress leader from Tumakuru has said that Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s decision to break his engagement with a Vokkaliga sub-caste girl caused the defeat to his Grandfather HD Deve Gowda in Tumkur.
Talking to the media, he said, Rajanna, a strong opponent of Deve Gowda family stated Nikhil Kumaraswamy broke his engagement with a Kunchitigara Vokkaliga sub caste girl. “It hurt the people of the community, who are in a large number in the Tumakuru Lok Sabha constituency”.
He also criticized that H D Deve Gowda for his decision to competition from the Tumakuru. “He wanted to destroy the political career of SP Muddahanumegowda, incumbent MP and a Congress leader. But it backfired”, he said.
