Uber, Ola And Rapido Banned! The Karnataka Transport Department Issues Order To Stop Services In Bangalore.

Bengaluru: Online taxi services Ola and Uber are banned from operating auto rickshaw services in Bangalore. The Karnataka Transport Department has issued an order to stop the auto-rickshaw services that are currently running by Monday. The Karnataka Transport Department has taken action following complaints of excessive charges. The government has directed the companies Uber, Ola, and Rapido not to operate online three-wheeler services in Karnataka from Monday.

"They are not licenced to drive automobiles, yet they service and overcharge. We are getting many complaints about this. This kind of exploitation of passengers is not acceptable," Additional Commissioner of Transport, Bengaluru, Hemanta Kumara, told the news agency.

Ola and Uber India did not respond to the Karnataka government's decision to ban the service. Uber has been popularising its autorickshaw services for the past few years. Meanwhile, the unexpected ban came. Rapido said its operations in Bengaluru were not illegal and would respond to the notice.

In a statement, the Rapido Company said that they have decided the fares in proportion to the fares set by the state transport department. Other companies are yet to respond to the issue. Uber, Ola and Rapido has been a cornerstone in making the transportation easy for the public.
