US Open: 19-year old Bianca beats Serena Williams to grab first Grand Slam title

Serena William’s Grand Slam woes continue and after Naomi Osaka outplayed Williams last year on Arthur Ashe Stadium, it was the turn of 19-year-old Bianca Andreescu on Saturday. World number 15 Bianca Andreescu has become the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam singles title.

The 19-year-old achieved the feat by defeating 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in the US Open final. Bianca won the match with a scoreline of 6-3, 7-5. She also became the first teenager to win a Grand Slam title in 13 years. Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu has upset Serena Williams in the US Open final for her first Grand Slam title. Andreescu's victory Saturday prevented Williams from claiming what would have been her record-tying 24th major singles championship.

On the other side, Three-time champion Rafael Nadal has reached his 27th Grand Slam final after defeating first-time major semi-finalist Matteo Berrettini 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-1 in 2 hours and 35 minutes. The 33-year-old will face first-time Grand Slam finalist Daniil Medvedev in the summit clash on Sunday. Nadal has won 18 of the 26 Grand Slam finals he has played.
