On 1st February Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman released the annual budget for the year 2021-2022. While many politicians have supported the steps taken by the central government, one person, in particular, is not very happy with the budget. Veteran Hindi film actor turned politician Shatrughan Sinha has said that the center should put more focus on the film industry as it contributes a lot to India’s economy.
Soon after the budget was unveiled the actor spoke to Pinkvilla and said, “Film industry that padi thi (The film industry had been shut down). But they have not bothered about them. The Centre has allowed theatres 100% occupancy but there is already a clash with the state that will decide on the occupancy, and just in case they allow only 50%, and God forbid if cases rise, then it will be like nahayenge kya aur nichodenge kya (we'll neither be here nor there).”
Earlier the I&B Ministry released a statement regarding theatres across the country. The statement read, “Audiences may be encouraged to avoid movement during the intermission. Longer intermissions may be used to allow the audience seated in different rows of the auditorium to move in a staggered manner.”
