Unseasonal rains have caused severe damage to the standing crops across Telangana. Several tonnes of harvested paddy and maize, brought to the government established paddy procurement centers, were also destroyed by the rains on Saturday and Sunday. A shortage of tarpaulin covers and gunny bags has only aggravated the problem.
