The Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Baaghi 3 has performed well in its first weekend at the box office. The action-packed film opened to a net of Rs. 20 crores on Friday and then earned Rs. 16.03 crores on Saturday. Yesterday on Sunday Baaghi 3 collected another Rs. 20.30 crores. This has pushed the film's total collections to a large sum of Rs. 53.83 crores as of now.
Despite performing well at the box office Baaghi 3 is not seeing a positive word of mouth. Both critics and fans have noticed the lack of a coherent story in the film. The film instead seems to be relying solely on the fanfare of its cast.
Ahmed Khan who has directed and choreographed the film recently spoke to Times of India about his film's successful launch at the box office. He said that Baaghi 3 has overwhelmed him. He added saying, "Malls are not functioning, shops are not working, considering the situation, cinema is the last thing people want to go to. In such a scenario, the film has earned Rs 17.50 to Rs 18 crore and it is overwhelming. Even if we had made Rs 7 to 8 crore then also it would have been good. It is the biggest opening of the year until now. We had expected much more but you can't fight almighty and nature."
Baaghi 3 is the story of two brothers. Riteish Deshmukh plays the timid brother who is always helped by Tiger Shroff. The film follows Tiger Shroff going to Syria to rescue his brother. In the process of which Tiger Shroff's character fights the entire country of Syria. Yes, you heard it right.
