The Kannada film industry is undeniably experiencing a golden moment at the box office these days. Unlike in the past, most Kannada films are earning well in theatres. Despite heavy competition from Dubbed Tamil blockbusters like 'Vikram,' 'Enugu,' and a few others, the film based on a labrador dog, has apparently won hearts in all languages.
Rakshit Shetty played the protagonist in the film, which was released in Telugu on June 10th with the same title to favorable reviews from viewers. According to the latest box-office estimates, the film earned around Rs 75+ crores in Kannada during its 30-day run, while the Telugu version earned a whopping Rs 4 crores, which is tremendous for a relatively unknown Kannada star like Rakshit in Tollywood. The same can be said for the Tamil version, which allegedly earned over Rs 4 crores at the Kollywood box office while earning approximately Rs 5.5 crores in Kerala, shocking many.
The film also had a fantastic run at the foreign box office, grossing a whopping Rs 100 crores from the Kannada industry.
The film is regarded to be one of the silent successes of South Cinema, and it is currently being acclaimed as an extraordinary achievement by its producers by Tollywood bigwigs.
