Akkineni Naga Chaitanya's Bollywood debut 'Laal Singh Chaddha', starring Aamir Khan in the lead role, is all set to hit the theatres on August 11th. Sharing about Naga Chaitanya's character in the film, named Bala, the filmmakers released a video in which Naga Chaitanya, along with the film's cast and crew, spoke about his character Balaraju Bodi aka Bala.
In the film, Chay plays Aamir Khan's companion when the latter is serving in the Indian army. In the video, Chay says that after considering several names, the film crew settled on Bala Raju. He also stated that he is pleased with the name because his character's name in the film, Balaraju, is an ode to his grandpa Akkineni Nageswara Rao's 1948 film of the same name.
Aamir stated about Chay, "I had great ease as a producer working with Chay." He works well with others. He's quite sharp as an actor. He absolutely drowns himself in the shot." Aamir commended Chay's parents for raising him with such discipline while showing childhood photos of the actor. Advait Chandan, the film's director, on the other hand, stated, "I have worked with numerous Hindi-speaking performers." However, Chay, as a non-Hindi-speaking actor, is more detailed with his dialogues." Tarannum Kaur, the make-up artist, also praised Chay as the kindest, gentle, and quiet actor she had ever seen.
